Ophelia Fair Beier retired after receiving the Secretary of Defense Certificate of Retirement in recognition of 31 years and eight months of dedicated federal service to the United States of America signed by Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, December 1, 2006. My last tour of duty was at The Pentagon, which is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, in Arlington, Virginia.
"I still find myself traumatized over the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. The morning of September 11, 2001, I was headed in the direction of my old office for a cup of coffee and to discuss financial matters with colleagues and long time friends before going to a budget meeting in another corridor on the opposite side, located in the Pentagon. A voice called out loud to me “Ophelia you don’t have time to stop, go immediately to the meeting in the fifth corridor of the Pentagon.” I obeyed the voice. Fifteen minutes later American Airlines Flight 77 hit my old office and killed 33 of my budget and accounting colleagues.
The military headquarters of the Department of Defense had been hit by an incoming commercial plane. Suddenly I was frozen in the fifth corridor; my mind became blank, when all of a sudden out of nowhere a voice said run Ophelia. I was alone. The voice once again said run. I just ran and ran. Once outside in the South Parking Lot of the Pentagon, I realized I was running to my car. I was approached by an FBI agent who insisted my car had become part of the crime scene. I was escorted to another location of the south parking lot."
"The Pentagon was so engulfed with fire. The fire department didn't appear to put a damp on the flames. Bodies were being carried to the area where I was located. I was too afraid to inquiry to the location from where those bodies came from. I began to run again, not knowing where I was running to."
I was a Pentagon employee, who immediately after the attack, found herself reassigned in the Pentagon as a budget analyst, to the work of budget analysts, financial analysts, and friends killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. My old office stood in the gaping hole that once scarred the Pentagon."
"We all were forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001. "God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things. I had no first hand knowledge that this would become the place for God to start training me as a leader, but God’s ways are not our ways."
"I was very angry with God and the Pentagon for allowing this to happen. I was doubtful, humiliated, and confused. I began to have a desperate need to find out why I kept hearing on September11, 2001 at the Pentagon a voice telling me what to do and when to run. I knew that I had an encounter with God, when His voice said, “Write it All Down.”
Now in 2007, God has begun launching Dr. Ophelia's ministry throughout the Florida region and where God would have her to go to minister The Gospel of love, power and a sound mind in Christ Jesus, through the preaching of the Word. Ophelia has begun to instill life and purpose into people with the powerful testimony of Gods saving power, seeing lives changed and transformed by God's grace from glory to glory.
